On Dec. 4, well over 100 downtown residents gathered at Prime on Sixth Street to usher in the 2023 holiday season. As always, it was a great opportunity for revelers to catch up with each other. Prime was trimmed out in festive decor and offered a scrumptious buffet for attendees. To see more photos of the event, please visit this page.

Thanks to members of the DRC and Covenant-First Presbyterian Church for turning out to decorate Piatt Park for the holidays (and make some new acquaintances, too) on Nov. 11, 2023! The refreshments served by Barbara from the Covenant-First Presbyterian Church’s hospitality cart ‘hit the spot’ on this bright but chilly morning! The plan is for the decorations to remain up until January 6th (the 13th at the latest). In the meantime, if you pass through the park and notice unsecured ribbons or lights not working, please let Alan Bunker know.

DRC members met on Feb. 14, 2023 and heard Mark Samaan, long-range planning manager for Cincinnati Metro/SORTA, summarize progress with the Reinventing Metro plan, which includes expanded service and the addition of BRT lanes along major transit arteries. Sara Bujas of 3CDC also gave an update of the agency’s activities downtown.

DRC board members spent several hours on Saturday, July 23, 2022, reviewing the past, present and future of the organization. Meeting at the Central Parkway YMCA, they opened with personal introductions and then were led on a quick tour of the building. Rick Dieringer, one of the founders of the DRC, gave a history, an overview of past accomplishments, and the founders’ vision of purpose. This was followed by exercises and discussions about the future focus of the organization.
